The Watches at Michael Rubin’s White Party

Michael Rubin’s annual white party to celebrate the 4th of July was a veritable star-studded affair. Hosted at the philanthropist’s glamorous estate in the Hamptons, the party gathered the creme de la creme of the worlds of entertainment, professional support, and business. And, as always, the watches of these elites each deserve a mention. 

Jay-Z and His Rolex Daytona Yellow Gold with Khanjar Stamp

The most revered celebrity watch collector and now a Wristcheck investor, Jay-Z attended Rubin’s white party with a true holy grail on his wrist. The king of hip hop sported a yellow gold Rolex Daytona with baguette-cut diamonds adorning its bezel and a diamond pavé illuminating its dial. While the gems-set Rolexes are not particularly rare among celebrity collectors, what makes this variant truly coveted is the Khanjar stamp – the royal crest of the Omani state. 

Tom Brady and His AP Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon “Tom VII Brady”

One of the greatest football players of our time, Tom Brady attended the 4th of July White Party with not just any Audemars Piguet watch, but a piece unique. Few have the privilege of having their name inscribed on the grand tapisserie dial – unless you’re Tom Brady, of course. The watch also features baguette-cut diamonds adorning its bezel and a flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock. 

Kevin O’Leary and His Cartier Crash Skeleton Platinum and Rolex Day-Date 30 “Emoji Puzzle”

Canadian businessman and investor Kevin O’Leary wore not one but two watches (simultaneously, might we add) to Michael Rubin’s white party on July 4th. One was the Uber rare Cartier Crash in platinum with a red leather strap, and the other one – a rather whimsical Rolex Day-Date “Emoji Puzzle”, which featured colorful puzzle pieces enameled on its dial and baguette-cut sapphires for hour markers. 

Drake and His Yacht-Master Yellow Gold with Baguette-Cut Diamonds

Another known watch collector in hip-hop, Drake attended Michael Rubin’s white party wearing a blinged-out Rolex Yacht-Master. This one was cast in yellow gold; the metal, however, was hard to see thanks to all the diamonds that covered its lugs and bezel. This variant of the Yacht-Master also had a black dial and strap, lending a perfect contrasting accent to the rapper’s white outfit. 

DJ Khaled and His Patek Philippe Nautilus Flyback Chronograph

Music producer and hip-hop artist, DJ Khaled has amassed one of the most impressive watch collections in the entertainment world. His unique timepieces include a Jacob & Co Brilliant Flying Tourbillon strewn with baguette-cut emeralds and this limited-edition Patek Philippe Flyback Chronograph in white gold with a denim strap. 

Meek Mill and His Patek Philippe Nautilus Flyback Chronograph

American rapper Meek Mill was also among the celebs who flocked to Rubin’s estate in the Hamptons on July 4th. Mill’s watch of choice was a true classic – a rose gold Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph with a black dial that features the classic horizontal stripes texture. 

Kyle Kuzma and His Richard Mille RM72-01 “Le Mans Classic” Flyback Chronograph

Basketball player for the Washington Wizards, Kyle Kuzma, wore a Richard Mille RM72-01 “Le Mans” Classic Flyback Chronograph to Michael Rubin’s white party. This watch, inspired by the 24-hour Le Mans race, echoes the performance of the cars that compete during a double lap of the dial on the 13.626 kilometers of the Le Mans circuit.

Tyrese Haliburton and His Cartier Pebble Yellow Gold

American basketball player Tyrese Haliburton attended Rubin’s 4th of July party wearing a Cartier Pebble on his wrist. An interesting take on the dress watch, this one features a round case with a rhomboid dial embedded in its center. It’s also marked with the Roman numerals normally associated with the Maison’s horological oeuvre and attached to a leather strap. 

Achraf Hakimi and His AP Chronograph “1017 ALYX 9SM” Yellow Gold

To Rubin’s white party, Spanish-Moroccan footballer Achraf Hakimi wore a watch made in collaboration with Audemars Piguet and streetwear brand 1017 ALYX 9SM. This chronograph looks as if it was carved out of a single gold bullion. Its minimalistic design – free of indexes, hour markets, and even sundial – truly sets it apart from other chronographs. 

Odell Beckham Jr. and His Patek Philippe Nautilus Platinum with Baguette Cut Rubies

Miami Dolphins wide receiver for the NFL, Odell Beckham Jr. was also among the athletes at Rubin’s white party. On his wrist, Beckham Jr. sported a true horological treasure – a rare platinum Patek Philippe Nautilus with baguette-cut rubies invisibly set to adorn its dial and matching gemstones punctuating its hour markers. 

Zack Bia and His AP Royal Oak Frosted Gold Double Balance Wheel Openworked with Baguette Cut Gems

American DJ and record producer Zack Bia rocked up to Michael Rubin’s 4th of July party wearing the highly desirable Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold Double Balance Wheel Openworked. The austere futurism of the watch’s skeletonized dial is offset by a colorful arrangement of stones on the bezel, which works beautifully with the frosted yellow gold of its case and bracelet. 

Lil Baby and His Rolex Yacht-Master White Gold with Diamonds & Sapphires

American rapper Lil Baby wore a rather interesting watch to Michael Rubin’s white party – the Rolex Yacht-Master cast in white gold and studded with blue and purple sapphires and, of course, diamonds. The contrast between its black dial and strap and the sparkling stones makes this one a true statement piece. 

Jake Paul and His Richard Mille RM11-03 “Last White Edition” Flyback Chronograph

One of the few celebrities to wear a white watch to a white party, YouTuber and actor Jake Paul, sported a Richard Mille RM11-03 “Last White Edition” Flyback Chronograph. Quavo and His Rolex Sky-Dweller

American rapper, singer, and record producer and a former member of Migos, Quavo attended Rubin’s 4th of July party wearing a classic Rolex Sky-Dweller. His variation was made from white gold and steel and featured a beautiful sunburst blue dial. 

Jadon Sancho and His Patek Philippe Nautilus White Gold Full Diamond Set

One of the reasons, perhaps, a lot of attendees at these glamorous parties wear sunglasses is to protect their eyes from all the bling on the celebs’ fingers, necks, and, duh, wrists. We were concerned about whoever found themselves near English footballer Jadon Sancho at Rubin’s white party – and their eyes – for the athlete wore a completely iced-out Patek Philippe Nautilus. Even the links of its bracelet were covered in baguette-cut diamonds. What a way to let the world know the magnitude of your star power.

American basketball shooting guard Donovan Mitchell attended Rubin’s white party wearing an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph. This watch featured a rather rare combination of a yellow gold case and bracelet and emerald-green dial, which is a refreshing departure from the brand’s signature white-and-blue combo. 

Yeat and His Rolex Daytona Everose Gold

American rapper and singer-songwriter Yeat was spotted at Rubin’s 4th of July white party wearing a Rolex Daytona in Everose gold. This classic timepiece featured a black sunburst dial and rose gold subdials, which harmonized beautifully with its hands and markers. 

Draymond Green and His AP Royal Oak Concept “Black Panther” Flying Tourbillon

American basketballer Draymond Green attended Rubin’s white party wearing an iconic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept “Black Panther” Flying Tourbillon. This one is not a mere timekeeping device but a piece of wearable art in its own right. The hand-painted three-dimensional sculpture of the beloved superhero adorns the skeletonized dial with a tourbillon nestled between T’Challa’s thighs. And, naturally, this watch wouldn’t be a truthful reference to Black Panther without purple accents, which here are realized on the purple rubber strap.
