Hot Ones – a groundbreaking YouTube game show hosted by the incomparable Sean Evans is, perhaps, one of the most entertaining programs to come out in the past five years. Launched in 2015, the show has had a few iconic guests, like Paul Rudd, Academy Award winner Charlize Theron, Shaq, Halle Berry, Margot Robbie, and more. Its fans are always eager to know how the celebrities will take the chicken wings dipped into various hot sauces. More than a handful of guests had to spot in the middle because some sauces turned out to be Too Hot To Handle (edit: that’s an entirely different show).
But whether they melt under the heat of some artisanal pepper sauce or take it like true champs, some of Evans’s guests have a mean watch game.
Ryan Reynolds and His Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Moonshine™ Gold 44MM
Merely days ago, Hollywood’s leading man Ryan Reynolds attended Hot Ones with his boy crush Hugh Jackman. The duo came on the show to promote Deadpool & Wolverine – the film that allegedly marks the end of Jackman’s tenure as the beloved X-Man. Reynolds was going through the spicy wings wearing an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Moonshine™. This timepiece is cast from yellow gold and measures a hefty 44mm. It also features a gorgeous moss-green dial with gold markers.
Glen Powell and His TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Titanium 39MM
The man who’s on his way to becoming the rom-com star of our generation (although the OGs would remember him from his stint as Chad in Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens), Glen Powell recently attended Hot Ones with his Twisters co-star Daisy Edgar Jones. Powell wore his TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Titanium in a sleek black colorway.
Billie Eilish and Her Skmei Digital Sports Watch 38MM
The youngest person to win an Oscar, Billie Eilish – who received the prestigious award for her existential ballad “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie, was also among the A-list guests at Hot Ones. The musician is known for her eclectic style – be it baseball caps on red carpets or, up until quite recently, acid-green hair. While fighting her way through the hot sauces, Eilish wore her 6-dollar SKMEI Digital Sports Watch.
Serena Williams and Her Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked Black Ceramic 41MM
One of the most decorated tennis players in professional sport has known, Serena Williams came to the Hot Ones not once but twice! During her return, the tennis royalty wore her Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked Black Ceramic, which wasn’t all that surprising given how Williams is the watchmaker’s ambassador.
Sean Evans and His Rolex Datejust 41 Yellow Gold & Steel
The Hot Ones host Sean Evans, who should be inducted into a hall of fame of some sort for consuming such impressive amounts of hot sauce, over the years has exhibited not only impressive feats of entertainment journalism but also fine taste in watches. In one of the episodes, Evans wore a Rolex Datejust mounted upon a stunning yellow-gold-and-steel Jubilee bracelet. This watch also features a gorgeous yellow sunburst dial.
Antony Starr and His Panerai Luminor Chrono Steel 44MM
Antony Starr’s portrayal of Homelander in The Boys was, perhaps, second only to Lena Heady’s Cersei in Game of Thrones in its nefariousness. The actor attended the Hot Ones together with his co-star Chace Crawford, wearing his Panerai Luminor Chrono in steel. This watch features a black dial with luminous Arabic numerals and a landmark P.9200 caliber movement.
Jessie T. Usher and His Rolex GMT-Master II “Rootbeer” Everose Gold & Steel 40MM
Actor who brought us the superhero A-Train in the TV show The Boys, Jessie T. Usher stunned as a guest on Hot Ones in his Rolex GMT-Master II. This timepiece is cased in Everose gold and features a brown-and-black GMT ring, which earned it the nickname “Rootbeer” among watch collectors.
Lewis Hamilton and His IWC Big Pilot's Watch AMG G 63 Armor Gold® 46.2MM
One of the most legendary Formula One drivers, Lewis Hamilton came on the Hot Ones earlier this May. While many were taking pleasure in Hamilton powering through spicy wings, we were looking at his watch – the IWC Big Pilot’s Watch AMG G 63. This stunner comes in a sleek gold case and a beautifully textured black dial.
Chris Hemsworth and His Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph Yellow Gold 41MM
When Chris Hemsworth came on the Hot Ones in May to promote Furiosa, he got visibly nervous when presented with the main task of the show. During the show, the star was wearing his Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph in yellow gold with a stunning navy-blue grand tapisserie dial.
Jade Cargill and Her Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding with Aftermarket Diamonds 41MM
American professional wrestler Jade Cargill attended the Hot Ones with her fellow WWE’er Bianca Belair. Cargill wore her Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding, which she covered completely in aftermarket diamonds.
Trippie Redd and His Rolex Sky-Dweller Yellow Gold & Steel with Aftermarket Diamonds 42MM
American rapper Trippie Redd came on the Hot Ones in April to face off against another rapper and singer-songwriter MGK (previously known as Machine Gun Kelly). To the show, Redd wore a true classic – a Rolex Sky-Dweller in yellow gold and steel. Of course, the artist wouldn’t be himself if he didn’t decorate his watch with diamonds all over its bezel and bracelet.
Ice Spice and Her Richard Mille RM 005 Rose Gold with Aftermarket Diamonds
Hip-hop sensation Ice Spice barely survived the trial by wings and spicy sauce on Hot Ones. Still, however, even as she was melting, the rapper looked nothing short of gorgeous. On her wrist, we spotted a Richard Mille RM 005 Rose Gold, which she naturally blinged out with diamonds. This “racing machine for the wrist” is equipped with the exclusive variable-geometry rotor, an invention that allows the movement’s winding mechanism to be optimized and personalized to the owner’s lifestyle by adjusting the six-position rib placement setting.
Jalen Brunson and His Rolex Datejust 41 White Gold & Steel
Basketball guard for the New York Knicks, Jalen Brunson came on the Hot Ones about four months ago to talk about his podcast the Roommates Show, which he hosts with fellow basketballer Josh Hart. Brunson’s watch of choice was a true classic – a Rolex Datejust in white gold and steel, which measures 41mm.
Josh Hart and His Rolex GMT-Master II “Batgirl” Steel 40MM
Real-life besties, colleagues, and hosts of the Roommates Show podcast, Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson seem to also share a good taste in watches. When the two came on the Hot Ones, they both wore Rolexes. Hart wore the iconic GMT-Master II with a black-and-black bezel ring, also affectionately known as “Batgirl” among collectors.
Jamie Dornan and His Rolex Yacht-Master 42 Yellow Gold
When Jamie Dornan came on Hot Ones earlier this year to discuss his acting journey, 50 Shades of Gray, The Tourist, and A Haunting in Venice, it was clear that facing against the wings soaked in hot sauce wasn’t an easy feat. On his wrist, Dornan wore his Rolex Yacht-Master 42 with a yellow gold case and a matte black dial.
Cam Newton and His IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 5N Gold 44.2MM
NFL legend, quarterback Cam Newton attended Hot Ones with his friend, former wide receiver Brandon Marshall in February this year. Not only a brilliant athlete but also a watch enthusiast, Newton wore his IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar in rose gold with matching numerals and a gorgeous white dial.
Brandon Marshall and His Rolex Daytona “Panda” Steel 40MM
Another American athlete who made an appearance at the Hot Ones, Brandon Marshall also didn’t disappoint with his taste in watches. His timepiece of choice was as remarkable as his football career – the rare Rolex Daytona in steel with a white dial and black-rimmed subdials, also affectionately known as “Panda” among collectors.
Zack Fox and His Oakley Blade II Steel 44MM
When rapper and comedian Zack Fox came on the Hot Ones, we were immediately drawn to his unique, otherworldly watch with a fluid case and an alien-esque, insectile almost, bezel. This watch, dubbed Blade II, is created by the sunglasses brand Oakley, which was all the rage in the 90s (if you’re old enough, that is). When Oakley launched its first timepiece, the Time Bomb, it was seen as a welcome disruptor in the horology world before fading into obscurity. So, it’s nice to see it make a guest appearance in pop culture once again!
