A Rolex Explorer With A Black Dial

The Oyster Perpetual Explorer in Oystersteel is a 36mm reference that features a stunning black dial. The dark watch face shows the Explorer model's characteristic 3, 6, and 9 numerals that have been treated with luminescent material. The Oyster architecture of the case is a robust outcome, courtesy a monobloc middle case, screw-down caseback, and winding crown that together makes the watch water-resistant up to 100 meters.

This Explorer finds its power in the Manufacture Rolex 3230 automatic movement that delivers a power reserve of around 70 hours. The movement incorporates the Chronergy escapement, which has been patented by Rolex and combines high energy efficiency with exceptional dependability. The Explorer is offered on an Oystersteel bracelet that comes with a folding Oysterlock safety clasp.

About
Rolex

The Founder

Known for models such as the Submariner, GMT Master, and the Cosmograph Daytona, Rolex has long been considered a collector’s essential. Although it’s the world's largest manufacturer of luxury Swiss chronometers today, it was born into humble beginnings as a timepiece distributor in London, established by the 24-year-old Hans Wilsdorf in 1905. He eventually trademarked the name Rolex in 1908 and relocated its headquarters to Geneva, where Rolex is still based today.

At a time when wristwatches were but a whimsical daydream, Wilsdorf anticipated them to be worn on the wrist someday and therefore set out on a mission to make the most accurate and dependable tool watches for professionals.
