About the Model
This Oyster Perpetual Submariner Date features a 41mm Oystersteel case that has been paired with an oyster bracelet. The watch is equipped with a rotatable bezel whose 60-minute graduations help divers monitor diving times and decompression stops accurately. The suave black dial with hour markers in triangles, circles, and rectangles is a show-stealer. The ingenuity of the bracelet lies in its Oysterlock clasp and the Glidelock mechanism which makes bracelet adjustments super easy.
Driven by the Manufacture Rolex 3235 automatic movement, the watch delivers a power reserve of around 70 hours. With its case construction that comprises a monobloc middle case, screw-down case back, and winding crown, the watch is water-resistant up to 300 meters.
Known for models such as the Submariner, GMT Master, and the Cosmograph Daytona, Rolex has long been considered a collector’s essential. Although it’s the world's largest manufacturer of luxury Swiss chronometers today, it was born into humble beginnings as a timepiece distributor in London, established by the 24-year-old Hans Wilsdorf in 1905. He eventually trademarked the name Rolex in 1908 and relocated its headquarters to Geneva, where Rolex is still based today.
At a time when wristwatches were but a whimsical daydream, Wilsdorf anticipated them to be worn on the wrist someday and therefore set out on a mission to make the most accurate and dependable tool watches for professionals.
