Embrace The Office Siren with These Watches

The viral fashion archetype will look so much better with these watches

You must’ve seen this archetype on every corner of the vasts of social media, from TikTok to Pinterest – whether it’s pictures of Gisele Bundchen in The Devil Wears Prada, fan cams of Bayonetta or mood boards with Bella Hadid’s street style inspiration on them. She is the one and only Office Siren – a stylish corporate maven stylized to the codes of the early noughties but sans the implications that she’s dressing for the male gaze so typical of that era.

But what makes an Office Siren? Normally, it’s a combination of skinny glasses and workwear (that more often than not includes some unbuttoned blouse and a mini skirt). But, when it comes to fashion (and watches), having fun is just as important as looking great. We are, reader, not authoritarian in our style suggestions – we’ll leave that to the writers at legacy publications who all for some reason have convinced themselves they’re Miranda Priestly incarnate. Instead, our guidelines are here to inspire curiosity and ingenuity.

Here, you will see four Sirens that dominate boardrooms and challenge gender stereotypes – each matched with a unique watch from Wristcheck’s “For Her” Collection

The Wall Street Guru

Her investment portfolio could send any trader from the 1950s into a spiral of hysteria, and her list of clients is so long, it would make War and Peace feel like a brochure. This style is, of course, a more masculine take on the Office Siren and relies on layering and contrasts to work. Picking the innermost and outermost layers of the same color (in this case they’re black Balenciaga blazer and Hugo Boss turtleneck) and separating them with something more graphic (here it’s a striped shirt from Bottega Veneta) should do the trick. Now, in your accessories, you might want to pick a hefty classic watch, like this Rolex Daytona in steel, and lighten it up with feminine jewels with, for example, baroque pearls. Our choice of eyewear here is these men’s rectangular sunglasses from Gucci to keep the look on the edgier side.

Iron Lady 2.0

She could be running a political office, a Fortune 500 company, or a media empire, and doing so with grace and poise. A Patek Philippe Twenty ~4 Manchette with diamonds would only be fitting for a woman like this. For this look, we began with a classic white shirt from Ralph Lauren and matched it with a black Prada pencil skirt of wool with an organza overlay. To make this ensemble a little bit more modern and preppy at the same time, add a cashmere sweater to it – this Khaite one would be perfect. As for the accessories, it’s best to keep things simple; the stainless steel of the watch, for example, will match well with the Boucheron Quatre ring in 18k white gold and diamonds. And, don’t be afraid to match silvery jewelry with the golden hardware of your handbag, so feel free to take that Birkin with you.

Style Dictator

As we have mentioned, the Office Siren archetype revisits the styles from the early 2000s. But why not dive a bit further into the past? The corporate attire of the 80s, for example, had a certain charm to it. Start with a bright color – red is one of the easier ones to style, especially with gold. And so, we start with this stunning Rolex Day-Date 36 in yellow gold with a Stella dial and diamonds (duh). Then, of course, a staple of any Office Siren from the 80s follows – a blouse with a necktie, like this one from Atu Body Couture. Match it with a mini skirt from The Row and, if you’d like to exude even more power (in the best tradition of someone like Diana Vreeland), throw a jacket with metal buttons over. As far as footwear is concerned, nothing beats a sleek glossy pump, especially if it’s from Acne Studios. And don’t forget to tie everything together with gold accessories, like the Versace Greca Goddess hoop earrings and a Gucci ring.

Soft Power

Now, if someone like Charlotte York had an office job (that wasn’t running a fake gallery that loses 40k a month), this is, perhaps, how she would dress for it. Here, we were inspired by the classic tweed suit. This one, instead, is in bouclé fabric of the most perfect cream shade. A silk camisole from The Row simply begs to be styled with this suit, making it appear more fresh and summer-friendly. An outfit as simple as this would require a statement watch to elevate it, so we chose this gorgeous vintage Piaget in yellow gold with a mother-of-pearl dial and diamonds punctuating its bezel and bracelet. An appropriate necklace for this would be the classic Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra with mother-of-pearl charms and glasses – from Gentle Monster.

Boss Next Door

This one is for all the Megan Fox apologists. The “girl next door” now holds power and independence. Unlike the infamous socialite-fantacist Anna Delvey, this heroine scaled the heights of corporate hierarchy on her merit. This look is a more traditional interpretation of the Office Siren, as you can see from these skinny optical frames. As a base for the outfit, we used this delicious microskirt-and-jacket set from Miu Miu in gray and punctuated it with burgundy accents. Of course, Cartier’s Tonneau Dual Time in gold with a red leather strap fits into this ensemble nicely, along with knee-high Paris Texas boots of snake-embossed leather and Bottega Veneta’s Maxi Lauren padded clutch.
