Aquanaut

The Aquanaut was first unveiled in 1997 and it enjoyed a great reception at that time. Its rounded octagon case was inspired by that of the Nautilus and kept it sportier and trendier. The contemporary Aquanaut 5167A draws heavily from the original but has its own character. This Aquanaut features an integrated black rubber strap and a black embossed dial that offers a subtle contrast when combined with a 40.8mm stainless steel case.

Patek Philippe's timepieces with complications need no introduction, but watches like the 5167A show that Patek's vision and craftsmanship are also applicable to a simple sports watch with a rubber strap. The Tropical rubber strap is created with a new composite material that offers added resistance to daily wear and tear. The large Arabic numerals are quick to spot and read time and also glow in the dark. The Aquanaut is 46.8mm from lug to lug with a total height of 8.3mm, and it wears very comfortably. The size is just about right for this sports watch, which does not appear too big. It may not get enough attention walking down the street but is a high-performance timepiece that can be both sporty and distinguished.
