Buying and selling watches on an online platform can seem a daunting prospect. Is it safe? How do I know if a watch is genuine? How will it be appraised? As a secondary watch platform, we understand these concerns and have strived to create what we believe to be the ideal marketplace for any person who is interested in watches. The foundations of Wristcheck were built upon the idea of trading both horological knowledge as well as exquisite timepieces - all in a secure, competitive and transparent environment.
SELLING
Perhaps there is a watch sitting in a drawer that doesn’t get as much time on the wrist as one might have anticipated, or you might prefer to free up some space and capital for the next purchase. There is no single reason to sell a watch - but we believe there are better ways to do it.
Fixed Fees and Appraisals
Wristcheck offers the lowest seller fees amongst secondary watch platforms of a similar calibre - fixed at 12% - ensuring that the seller gets the most value for their watch (rather than being cornered by exorbitant fees resulting in a pitiful net return). This fee is not simply a commission for using our service, it encompasses a full suite of benefits offered by our personal concierge service. Our highly knowledgeable Watch Specialists are available to discuss pricing based on current market value and potential trajectory. Sellers are also welcome to provide their own input on setting the list price. Regardless, if a sale is made the seller will receive 88% of the final price - no hidden fees.
Our Watch Specialists are keen to assist and are reachable during office hours to help with queries. Sellers are also encouraged to maintain an open dialogue with members of staff through messaging (via WhatsApp or email) and participate in the negotiation process for any offers that may come in. Rest assured that no sale will be finalized without the confirmation of the seller.
What is the process?
Step 2:
Arrange with our Watch Specialist to have your watch shipped to Wristcheck via our trusted courier partners, insured at their full value. Once it has been received, the authentication process will begin. If you are located in Hong Kong, please feel free to drop off your watch with us for inspection.
Step 3:
Once authentication is completed, the team at Wristcheck will create a comprehensive listing on our marketplace. The seller will not need to provide detailed photos of the watch - Wristcheck will arrange for complimentary professional photography. For any watch that does not pass our authentication process, a Watch Specialist will be in touch to coordinate the return of the item(s).
Step 4:
Wait for confirmation of sale! Once a transaction has been confirmed and the buyer return period of 7 days has expired, payment will be wired to you within 48 hours.
BUYING
Purchasing a watch from Wristcheck is straightforward.
Browse our BUY section to see what is currently in stock. Each listing is complete with numerous professional photos showing the exact condition of the watch, together with a detailed description of the timepiece (including information on whether it comes with box and papers), the year of manufacture (if available) and extensive specifications. These photos reflect the true “as is” condition of the watch and no alterations or touch-ups have been made in post-production. Each watch is also tested against industry guidelines by our in-house Swiss-trained watchmakers, and this allows Wristcheck to confidently offer a one-year warranty on every watch purchased through our platform that covers any manufacturing and mechanical defects.
Prospective buyers are provided with the option to BUY NOW at the listed price or submit an offer using our innovative MAKE AN OFFER system. The condition of watches listed for sale range from brand new to pre-owned which is clearly indicated on each listing - and will naturally affect the value of each item.
