SPB295J1, while not the inaugural green watch nor the first Urushi model, is the introduction of the amalgamation of both styles. This watch is also a revival of a distinct display that Seiko has not utilized for a considerable period. Crafted with stainless steel and measuring 40mm, it is a true-to-form watch, as it pays homage to the classic elements of the Seiko Presage Craftsmanship family. Front and center is the green dial created using the ancient technique of Urushi lacquer. The dial undergoes a painstaking procedure of hand-painting and polishing, repeated several times to achieve perfection. The green hues gracefully adorn the dial, whilst opulent gold accents of the second hand reverberate the warmth of the sun. Another characteristic of Urushi lacquer is over time, it will grow hardier and more resilient, which speaks to the longevity of the material. Powered by the selfwinding calibre 6R24, the watch has a plethora of functions such as a power reserve indicator, retrograde date, and the day of the week, also with gold hues against the beautiful green backdrop. Limited to only 1000 pieces, not only is the watch a homage to historical techniques, but it is a testament to Seiko's expertise in the industry of watchmaking.
