About the brand

Konstantin Chaykin

The Founder

To date, the only Russian member appointed to the prestigious Swiss horological institute known as the AHCI, Konstantin Chaykin remains - by some measure - the country’s most influential independent watchmaker working today.

After beginning his career in 2003, Chaykin immediately demonstrated the breadth of his talent by creating the “Foundation” - the first tourbillon table clock of its kind, made entirely within Russia. Over two decades, Chaykin has followed this prodigious debut with a range of other unique feats in watchmaking: including the Lunokhod Spherical Moonphase and Moscow Computus.

History

Founded in 2003 by the eponymous Konstantin Chaykin, the Chaykin manufacturer may be credited as the only fine watchmaker to produce all of its timepieces in Russia.

Working with a tightly knit ensemble of 10 watchmakers, the Chaykin brand is best known for its irreverent and mechanically sophisticated “character” watches - many of which tap into folklore or popular culture for inspiration.

In 2021, Chaykin released its first wristwatch with a tourbillon - the unique “Martian” - to record-breaking fanfare. Sold at auction for CHF 200,000, it is currently the most expensive Russian-made watch ever sold.
