The IWC Portugieser Chronograph (ref. IW371620) carries forward the elegant proportions of the celebrated 3714 while updating a modern classic with technical advancements and subtle refinements. Introduced to the main collection in 2022, this steel iteration features a crisp silver dial punctuated by sharp, contrasting black sub-dials – a layout reminiscent of mid-century chronograph designs.

Housed in a 41mm stainless steel case, the watch is powered by IWC’s in-house calibre 69355. Visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback, the column-wheel chronograph movement delivers a 46-hour power reserve and operates at 4 Hz, ensuring both performance and longevity. The watch is delivered with a practical black rubber strap and is water-resistant to 30m, making it suitable for daily wear with a dress-leaning profile.

The transition from the 3714 to 3716 marked more than a cosmetic update; it reestablished the Portugieser as a fully integrated, in-house chronograph line, enhancing both its technical merit and long-term collectibility.
