Dressed up in rose-gold for the first time ever, this Streamliner is endowed with a vantablack® dial that presents a mesmerizing contrast against a glamorous gold case and sleek integrated bracelet

It looks like 2022 is going to be the year of the Streamliner for Moser. In June, Edouard Meylan scored a fantastic collaboration with Eric Peng Cheng's Undefeated to roll out the brand’s very first blacked-out DLC-coated watch — the Streamliner Chronograph Undefeated. With its multi-textured gray dial and the dramatic laser engraved Black Tiger Camo motif, the timepiece had both watch nuts and streetwear junkies going gaga over it. Hot on the heels of this cool collab, Moser is now dropping a new Streamliner Tourbillon – arguably the most gorgeous one we have seen so far. Dressed up in rose-gold for the first time ever, this Streamliner is endowed with a vantablack® dial that presents a mesmerizing contrast against its glamorous gold case and sleek integrated bracelet.

Now that we’ve tried on this audacious sports watch, it’s hard to imagine the gilded Streamliner Chrono paired with anything else except the dark and inviting vantablack®. Though one can always expect Meylan to pull another surprise on us, for now, this is as ravishing as it can get. Sporty, dependable and outdoorish in its vibe, the Streamliner has always been incredibly effortless to wear. With the introduction of the new Tourbillon Vantablack®, Moser has now elevated the glamor quotient of this collection.

The carefully constructed aesthetics aside, the new Streamliner is also Moser’s grand statement on making material innovation an integral part of the brand’s evolution. In 2018, they introduced the world’s “darkest man-made substance” – Vantablack® – in the Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept and since then we have seen several high-tech Moser watches like the Venturer Vantablack Black Hands, the Swiss Alp Watch Final Upgrade, the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Only Watch and the Endeavour Small Seconds Total Eclipse flaunting these tantalizing dark dials. Meylan made his intentions on making this material mainstream at Moser even more clear with the introduction of the Streamliner Chronograph "Blacker Than Black" at Watches and Wonders 2022. Paired with a Vantablack® backdrop that made the entire watch almost invisible except for the white hands floating in the center, this unique piece featured a case, bracelet and obviously the dial – completely coated in Vantablack®.

Keeping it minimal as always, Moser has accentuated the beauty of Vantablack® on the new Streamliner with the use of red-gold indices that have been dextrously fixed from the back of the dial. Depending on the angle and the play of light, the indices seem to merge with the Vantablack® backdrop—giving the watch a whole new dimension.

Besides the enticing contrast presented by the pitch black dial encased in the trademark cushion case, the watch’s highlight is the one-minute flying tourbillon whirling at six o'clock. It definitely brings one’s attention back to Moser’s strength as a manufacturer of crucial watch components like hairsprings, which is a huge feat in the world of high horology. The Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack® is equipped with the powerful HMC 804 fitted out with a double hairspring designed and produced in-house by H. Moser & Cie.'s sister company Precision Engineering AG. How are two hairsprings better than one, you might ask? Well, the idea behind these twin components is to ensure better accuracy, as the two hairsprings are expected to cancel out the effect of gravity on each other and minimize friction.

We can’t help but mention the meticulous finishing on this watch, which makes the red-gold look even better than your usual watches crafted out of precious metals. As expected of Moser, the polishing and satin-finishing on the case and bracelet is absolutely flawless. So what you have here is a statement piece that’s innovative, ultra modern and distinctly Moser. So if you have a million bucks on you, let this be the Moser you’d buy this year.
