The perfect blend of classic watchmaking and streetwear chic, the latest edition of the Streamliner Chrono presents the best of both worlds without screaming for attention
The most unexpected watch release of the year so far, the Streamliner Chronograph Undefeated is not just daring and different à la H. Moser & Cie but also one of the finest examples of a collaborative effort outside the traditional watch community. The perfect blend of classic watchmaking and streetwear chic, it presents the best of both worlds without really screaming for attention.
A stark contrast to Moser’s previous release earlier this year – the super elegant Endeavor Total Eclipse brought out in association with The Armoury – the Streamliner Undefeated has a much broader appeal (IMHO). It’s got Moser’s signature gradient dial but with an Undefeated twist – the multi-textured gray face is laser engraved with the Black Tiger Camo motif, which gives it a sharp look and lots of play under light. As expected of Moser, this engraving doesn’t come easy. The military camouflage stripes are treated to several layers of lacquer for that gradient effect synonymous with Moser’s fumé dials. While Undefeated’s five-strike "tally" logo is quite prominent, Moser has kept its branding minimal as always – look hard and you might be able to spot H. Moser & Cie. in offwhite in the center of the dial.
There are three applied numerals at 3,6 and 9 and the elapsed times of the chronograph can be read on the peripheral scales. The curved hours and minutes hands in gray feature Globolight inserts, an innovative ceramic-based material which contains Super-LumiNova®.
To complement the monochromatic gray tones on the dial, Moser has given the steel case and integrated bracelet an anthracite-gray DLC coating– a first for any model in the Streamliner collection. The watch has been empowered with dynamic water resistance up to 120m, so you can actually work up that chrono underwater!
Although the watch measures 42mm, it sits quite comfortably on the wrist. The perfectly rounded curves and slanting sides of the cushion case make it absolutely wrist-friendly for even those who prefer smaller dials. Limited to 76 pieces, the Streamliner Chronograph Undefeated is equipped with the powerful self-winding chronograph caliber HMC 902, which won Moser the GPHG prize in 2020. This 434- part movement promises to deliver a power reserve of 54 hours and can be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback.
Known for its superhit partnerships with brands such as Nike, BAPE, Adidas and Land Rover, Undefeated has undoubtedly struck an enviable collab with H. Moser & Cie – the perfect alliance of craftsmanship and street cred as seen in the latest edition of the Streamliner. And now we can’t help but wonder what Edouard Meylan has in store for us next.
