Released at Baselworld in 2016, Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Ultranero is an extra-thin manually wound tourbillon with the iconic octagonal casing that the Octo is so well-known for in black DLC-coated titanium. This all-black piece exudes understated elegance throughout, with an 18k rose gold crown and hands that pop against the dark display. The 40mm watch features a power reserve of 52 hours and houses the world's thinnest Tourbillon caliber BVL 268 (1.95MM thick) with côtes de Genève finishing. Inspired by the 310 AD Roman Basilica of Maxentius, the octagonal-shaped watch is also water resistant up to 30 meters. The Bulgari Ultranero comfortably stands out as one of the Italian Maison's ultimate dress pieces, thanks to its equally thin monotone stitched black alligator leather strap.

The Lange 1 Time Zone was the first model from the German brand to feature a dual time complication with a city ring, debuting in 2005. The watch maintains the distinctive asymmetrical dial layout and large date display of the Lange 1 and is an attractive wrist-bound travel companion, beautifully indicating whether each timezone is in the AM or PM via small blue semi-circles (which indicate night-time; or 6 pm to 6 am). The Ref. 116.026's additional time zone adapts to the city indicated by the arrow positioned at 5 o'clock on the small subdial and is triggered via a pusher at 8 o'clock.

The white gold model shown here is a limited edition of 100 pieces, especially created for Simonetta Orsini, Lange's first South American store, and it has Buenos Aires instead of Rio de Janeiro on the city wheel.

If you're a collector looking for a sophisticated chronograph, this Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph is one to consider. The neat composition of the sub-dials give the first impression of the watch being absolutely immaculate and legible. The case design offers a robust feel while maintaining smooth flowing lines.

The Overseas Chronograph's fixed polished lugs are inspired by VC's maltese cross emblem, giving it a unique appearance. For the sub-dials: the counter at 3 o’clock records the chronograph minutes, the one at 6 o’clock records the chronograph hours, and finally at 9 o’clock is a running seconds display. The dial's contrast markings and indexes add to its user-friendliness. The self-winding in-house caliber 5200 movement offers 52 hours of power reserve, which is an added pleasure to the overall experience. The bracelet is easy to wear since it tapers softly around the wrist. This Overseas Chrono is special for another reason – the 5200 movement in the watch comes stamped with the prestigious Geneva Seal which is also known as the Geneva Quality Hallmark for watches that meet very strict guidelines in craftsmanship and excellence.

Undoubtedly the most sought-after chronograph on the market, the Rolex Daytona is one watch that needs no introduction. While its stainless-steel variants tend to get all the attention, it's the precious metal variants, like the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 116509 we have here, that fly under the radar and provide a true source of value on the open market. This timepiece, with its exquisite 18k white gold case construction, offers the best of both worlds in terms of aesthetics – as it makes a statement owing to the gold, but seems polished – as well as athletic, thanks to the so-called charcoal gray "Racing Dial" with red accents.

The automatic cal. 4130 movement is a masterwork in horological engineering, featuring the latest in Rolex’s movement technology. With over 20 years of service under its belt, it's safe to say that the Cal. 4130 has proven its worth, and the watch it powers is no exception, with its decades-old design, heritage and influence on the watchmaking world.

The revolving satellite hour discs, which cycle along the minute track at the curved part of the case, are visible through the huge crystal. While the dial is fascinating, the UR-103.9's caseback is even more so, with a mounted control board that includes a 43-hour power reserve indicator, a 'Chrono Meter,' which accurately displays the minutes and seconds, and a 'Fine Tuning' screw that enables the wearer to adjust the time as per requirement.
