Both a watchmaker and astute businessman in his own right, Carl Friedrich Bucherer established his inaugural boutique in Lucerne in 1888. Today, the Bucherer name is known far and wide throughout Europe: with retail outlets in multiple countries across the region and even its own shade of signature blue.
By 1919, Carl F. had already developed his own collection of Bucherer-branded ladies watches and was among the first retailers to enter the burgeoning market for wristwatches. His sons, Carl Eduard, and Ernst Bucherer, joined the business at around this time - ushering in the era of sportif chronographs.
