Breguet is a name which has a great deal of importance in the history of horology. The founder, Abraham-Louis Breguet is the creator of the Tourbillon and one of the greatest watchmaker to have ever existed. Among the various models that the brand has on offer, spread out among various collections such as the Classique, Marine, or Type XX, Breguet also offers watches in their ‘Tradition’ collection. These watches draw inspirations from classic Breguet timepieces but designed to appeal to more modern collecting tastes. The collection is actually is an homage to Abraham-Louis Breguet’s ‘Souscription’ watches which were launched at the end of the 18th century.
The Breguet Tradition GMT ref. 7067 is one of the most useful models in the collection with its practical second timezone indication (placed at 8 o’clock on the dial), day/night indicator (at 9 o’clock), and power reserve indicator on the back of the movement. The case design is typical of Breguet with a fluted case band and straight lugs. The added pusher at the 10 o’clock position allows for a quick adjustment of the local timezone. Most of the dial has been openworked to reveal the intricacies of the movement and the silvered gold sub-dial for the local time features Breguet’s signature ‘Clous de Paris’ finish, which is hand-guilloched. As usual for Breguet timepieces, the watch features the traditional open-tipped Breguet hour and minute hands.
Powered by the Calibre 507 DRF offering 50 hours of power reserve, the hand-wound anthracite movement looks industrial but are finely finished to the level you would expect from a high horology Maison such as Breguet.
