Laventure

After half a decade spent in-house at a design agency (helping to realize the work of Tissot, Hamilton, and Audemars Piguet), Clement Gaud ventured into the market with Laventure - originally a Kickstarter brand, inspired by the chronometers and precision timing instruments prevalent during the 1960s.

A veritable one-man show, Gaud’s background in professional design has led him to favor a hands-on approach. Outside of manufacturing, the Laventure founder handles every aspect of a new watch’s rollout personally: from proof of concept all the way through to marketing. Design of Laventure’s products takes place in Neuchatel - just 18km from where the watches are produced.

Founded in 2017, Laventure (as the brand’s name handily suggests) is an independent Swiss watch brand inspired by ideas of rugged exploration and adventure. Following a promising career as a professional watch designer, founder Clement Gaud struck out on his own to establish the brand - specializing in timepieces like the Sous-Marine, which showcase an affinity for 1960s tool watches.

In an effort to preserve the authentic Swiss watchmaking tradition, all of the pieces produced at Laventure are crafted in La Chaux-de-Fonds using componentry that is 95% Swiss. When introducing new models, production is usually capped at 50 pieces per year.
