Black Friday Watch Gift Guide for Her
Surprise your better half with these sweet Black Friday watch deals on Wristcheck
Black Friday, this year on November 29th, marks the official start of Christmas shopping. Yes, even with a plethora of dizzying gifting options widely available, it somehow gets increasingly hard to come up with a present that feels special. But few things can compare with a watch in its ability to hold value (both monetary and emotional) while remaining practical – so much so that some couples are beginning to choose watches in lieu of rings as engagement gifts, which we wrote extensively about here.
We also hear that, over the past three years, women have become more interested in watches—not just the traditionally “feminine” models with diamonds galore and mother-of-pearl dials, but the watches that can be considered “masculine.”
At Wristcheck, we have a variety of watches that would satisfy even the most discerning horological taste buds. Our New In and Under Retail collection includes models from some of the most coveted brands, from Bulgari’s seductive Serpenti collection to Cartier’s elegant Panthère.
Panthère de Cartier Yellow Gold Diamond Silver Dial
Panther has been an enduring symbol of Cartier’s watchmaking for more than a century – the first instance of the elegant feline’s likeness immortalized in a watch was in 1914. Since then, this animal has been glorified by the maison in countless iterations – as a chatelaine watch in 1915, and, finally, in 1983, as the Panthère de Cartier. Since then, the collection has remained largely unchanged, for its sleek and iconic design inspired both the images of the brand’s patron animal and an air of modernity. The variant we have here is cast in yellow gold, its svelte Roman numerals illuminated by the pristine silver dial and the unmistakable square dial highlighted by a row of diamonds.
Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori 33 Stainless Steel White Dial
Another well-known lionizer of the graceful beasts is, of course, Bulgari. The history of Bulgari Serpenti began more than seven decades ago, in 1948 when the maison launched the iconic jewelry watch designed to be wrapped around the wrist. And, in the 1960s, under the influence of global cultural shifts, the Roman jewelry house began embracing colored gemstones and enamel in their watchmaking, thus expanding the Serpenti range into the motley mosaic it is today. Here we have a rather simple iteration of Serpenti – made from stainless steel with a rather simple white dial. The sleek silhouette of this watch makes it a perfect piece to wear every day, but, the unique scaly texture of its bracelet, nevertheless, remains a fascinating conversation starter. And did we mention that this beauty is trading 20 percent below retail?
Omega Constellation Rose Gold Silver Dial
While, for quite some time now, the name Omega has been most often associated with the Speedmaster range, it didn’t exactly the one to etch the brand’s moniker into the public consciousness (or, at least, if it did, it happened because of the grunt work done by the collection that preceded it). This is the Constellation collection – Omega’s eternal ode to the last frontier. Born in 1948, the line got its name from the emblem on the back of the watch, which depicted an observatory with eight stars in the sky above. For years, a distinct feature of every Constellation watch was the faceted bezel, which, over the years morphed into two sets of claws or “Griffes”. This iteration features the recognizable case in 18k rose gold with diamonds for hour markers and a beautifully textured white dial. It’s also currently trading at more than 50 percent under its retail value.
Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas Rose Gold and Stainless Steel White Dial
As mentioned earlier, Bulgari’s Serpenti collection saw countless iterations, from minimalist to ridiculously extravagant. The example we have right here is on the simpler side, though it would hardly fly under anyone’s radar. The unmistakably seductive bracelet of the ref. 103708 coils around the wrist like a bracelet with its alternating rose gold and stainless steel bands delivering that hypnotizing serpentine charm. Within the case, shaped like a snake’s head, is a uniquely textured white dial and svelte Roman numerals cast in rose gold. With this one, making your better half feel like royalty is really that simple (and she doesn’t have to know that it was 17 percent under retail).
Omega Seamaster Diver 300m Rose Gold and Steel Black Dial
There's truly no better match than between an adventurous soul and Omega. The brand’s Seamaster collection most fondly captures the vagabond spirits and the insatiable desire to explore the unknown. First launched in 1948, the Seamaster had one ambitious purpose – to withstand any challenge at any altitude, whether above or below sea level. This version of the Seamaster here is presented in a dark color scheme – with a black dial and bezel ring, which are illuminated by white indexes and rose gold numerals respectively. And if that’s not enough to satiate your woman’s adventurous spirit, then consider it currently trading at 9 percent below retail.
Breitling Chronomat Stainless Steel White Dial
Few watches symbolize the changing tides in watchmaking history like Breitling’s Chronomat. Invented during the heat of the Quartz Crisis, Chronomat was a mark of ingenuity and technical excellence. While chronographs began losing their popularity among young people, the brand’s CEO Ernest Schneider struck a creative alliance with the Italian Frecce Tricolori Jet team to create a watch that could be wearable and practical inside the cockpit (hence the model’s signature recessed crystal) and beyond. After what feels like countless iterations of the Chronomat, it remains a true staple among watch enthusiasts. The variant presented here is cast in stainless steel and features a white dial, which makes the rose gold indices with diamond accents stand out even more. And the best part? This one currently stands at 21 percent below retail.
Tudor Black Bay GMT Steel Black Dial 41mm
While Tudor was established in 1926, its most popular collection – Black Bay – saw the light of day nearly a century later, in 2012. Since then, the members of the Black Bay family have become staples among watch collectors. Black Bay also marked the brand’s independence from Rolex and, while the latter’s influences are apparent in this line, it still stands on its own. Apart from the bold bezel, a telling mark of Black Bay watches is the snowflake hours hand and, of course, a sturdy case. The specimen we have here is made from stainless steel and features a vibrant red-and-blue GMT ring – perfect for a woman on the go with a flair for more “masculine” models. It’s also worth noting that on Wristcheck, this reference is priced at 9 percent below its retail value.
