Established by Ilya Gelfman in 2014, the Gelfman brand embodies the vision of a successful entrepreneur and ardent watch enthusiast. His journey began in 2007 when he encountered acclaimed independent watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin, an esteemed member of the AHCI Academy of Independent Watchmakers. Gelfman’s admiration for Chaykin’s craftsmanship ignited his fascination with high-end watchmaking, leading him to amass a profound appreciation for the artistry and precision behind luxury timepieces. This drive led to the establishment of Gelfman, a brand renowned for its meticulously crafted bespoke watches, characterized by exceptional attention to detail and adherence to the highest quality standards.

Gelfman is a watch brand that originated from a collaboration between Ilya Gelfman and independent watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin in 2007. They introduced the groundbreaking Mystery 1000 Jewels prototype, the world’s first mechanical wristwatch with a mysterious time display and added complications.

In 2014, Gelfman launched the IN-16 Nixie, a limited edition timepiece that combines retro-futuristic electronic digital design with vintage vacuum tube technology and modern connectivity features. Only 999 units of the IN-16 Nixie were manufactured.

The Gelfman IN-16 Nixie watch was nominated in the “Petite Aiguille” category at the 2022 GPHG Geneva Grand Prix of Haute Horlogerie, highlighting its innovative and exceptional qualities.
