John Isaac, the founder of Artisans de Genève, was introduced to the craft by his grandfather, a talented dial painter and watch enthusiast. He studied the art of dial painting under his grandfather’s guidance and later worked as a designer for prestigious watch brands for five years. 

Recognizing the growing demand for customization, Isaac proposed the creation of a “personalization” department but faced resistance and rejection. However, undeterred by this setback, he founded Artisans de Genève, bringing together a team of exceptional craftsmen to offer bespoke modifications and enhancements to iconic timepieces.

Artisans de Genève was founded in 2005 with a singular vision - to offer a bespoke customization service to collectors who sought to design their ultimate “one of a kind” watch.

Though the company has personalized a range of timepieces from renowned watchmakers, its most notorious association is with Rolex.

The modern Daytona references are a favorite subject matter of the brand, with Artisans de Genève specialists having variously dial-swapped, skeletonized, and even DLC-coated the iconic Rolex chronograph design over the years.

Notable Artisans de Genève clients have included director Spike Lee and former Formula One driver Rubens Barrichello.
