Benoît Mintiens is an accomplished Belgian industrial designer and the founder of the watch brand Ressence. With a background in industrial design from Belgium and the UK, Mintiens embarked on a successful career in product development, designing products for several multinational corporations.

Driven by his passion for horology and design, he established Ressence in 2010, a brand that has gained recognition for its innovative and distinctive timepieces. Mintiens is celebrated for his unconventional approach to watchmaking, incorporating fluid-filled dials and unique time-telling mechanisms in his designs.

Founded in 2010 by Belgian industrial designer Benoît Mintiens, Ressence is a contemporary watch brand that seeks to reimagine traditional watchmaking and create innovative timepieces. Mintiens’ strong background in industrial design and engineering paved the way for the brand’s breakthrough moment in 2013 with the introduction of the Type 3 watch. This timepiece featured a unique oil-filled dial that eliminated the traditional hands.
