Introduced in 1956, the Day-Date quickly became known as the "President's watch" due to its association with several U.S. Presidents. The watch is renowned for its innovative features, including being the first watch to display the date and day of the week spelled out in full. It has now become one of Rolex's most successful and iconic watch models and stands on the summit with the titans of the watch industry.

Rolex's Day-Date W Series Blue Dial ref. 18238 is a luxurious and stylish upgrade to the Day-Date family in 1995. The watch is completely dressed in yellow gold from head to toe, case to bracelet, matched with a fluted bezel and a presidential bracelet, an extremely elegant and well-refined timepiece that is bound to capture people's attention when present in the room. Ref. 18238 in particular as well, was seen as a transformation from its predecessor ref. 18038, transitioning from a vintage and classic look to a more modern and advanced watch. The most notable upgrade the watch received is its movement, upgrading from calibre 3055 to a newly built calibre 3155 that is capable of up to 100m of water resistance and approximately 48 hours of power reserve. The movement was also the first Rolex in-house movement to possess a double quick-set function, which allowed the ability for the date and day display to be quickly adjusted. The watch is finally completed with a striking blue dial that complements the yellow gold exquisitely adding another layer of sophistication and luxury to the watch. As beautiful as it is versatile, the watch is a dependable companion regardless of the occasion and is a timepiece that is loved and cherished by all.
